Feng Chia University Library Operational Guidelines for Honorary Membership

Adopted at the Library Affairs Meeting on March 28, 2017 Approved by the President and promulgated on May 26, 2017 Adopted at the Library Affairs Meeting on January 3, 2023 Approved by the President and promulgated on February 3, 2023

  1. Article 1 In accordance with Article 3 of the Feng Chia University Library Reading Service Directives, these operational guidelines are formulated to encourage and express gratitude to individuals or groups who donate to the university or the library unit.
  2. Article 2 Donors may apply for an honorary library membership card, which grants access to library reading and borrowing services. The library honorary membership card can be used by the donor or a specific individual designated by the donor (must be 18 years or older). In the case of a donor being a legal entity, members within the legal entity are also eligible.
  3. Article 3 Donors sponsoring the library's operational funds with a donation exceeding NT$100,000, in addition to receiving a gratitude plaque, will be rewarded as follows:
    1. For donations of NT$100,000 or more but less than NT$1 million, a Platinum-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
    2. For donations of NT$1 million or more but less than NT$5 million, a Diamond-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
    3. For donations of NT$5 million or more, an Aristocrat-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
  4. Article 4 Donors contributing NT$500,000 or more to the university's Academic and Administrative Development Fund, besides following the Feng Chia University Academic and Administrative Development Fund Donation Incentive Guidelines, may enjoy the following privileges based on their donation amount:
    1. For donations of NT$1 million or more but less than NT$5 million, a Platinum-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
    2. For donations of NT$5 million or more but less than NT$10 million, a Diamond-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
    3. For donations of NT$10 million or more but less than NT$20 million, an Aristocrat-level library honorary membership card will be presented.
    4. For donations of NT$20 million or more, three Aristocrat-level library honorary membership cards will be presented.
  5. Article 5 The number of books, loan period, and validity period allowed for borrowing with the library honorary membership card are as follows:
    1. Platinum-level: Borrow up to 25 books/items from the physical library collection for 25 days; valid for 3 years.
    2. Diamond-level: Borrow up to 25 books/items from the physical library collection for 25 days; valid for 10 years.
    3. Aristocrat-level: Borrow up to 40 books/items from the physical library collection for 40 days; valid for a lifetime.
  6. Article 6 Cardholders can personally enter the library during opening hours for reading and borrowing books, and all related borrowing and reading matters are subject to the library's regulations.
  7. Article 7 The guidelines were adopted at the Library Affairs Meeting and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments.

These Guidelines were translated from the original Chinese version. In the event of any discrepancies between the two versions, the Chinese version always takes precedence.
