Feng Chia University Library General Membership Guidelines

  1. Article 1 In accordance with Article 3 of the Feng Chia University Library Reading Services Directives, and to promote a literary society and meet the needs of the community, these implementation guidelines are formulated to provide reading and borrowing services.
  2. Article 2 Individuals aged 18 and above may apply for membership following the designated procedures, and the maximum number of valid members is set at 300. Dependents of university faculty and staff, as well as alumni, are eligible for preferential treatment.
  3. Article 3 Membership applications require completion of an application form, submission of relevant identification and supporting documents for preferential treatment (returned after verification), payment of annual membership fees, card production fees, and the provision of one passport-size photograph. The library reserves the right to make the final approval of membership. The membership application form is provided in Appendix 1, and the service categories and fee standards are detailed in Appendix 2.
  4. Article 4 The membership is valid for one year, and no refunds or category changes are permitted mid-term. Upon expiration, if renewal is desired, the member must reapply for membership.
  5. Article 5 The membership card is for the exclusive use of the cardholder and may not be lent or privately traded. Members must personally swipe the card for access when visiting the library. In case of a lost card, the member should promptly report the loss to the library. If the loss results in a loss to the library, the member is responsible for compensation.
  6. Article 6 Members accessing the library for self-study or reading must adhere to the library's opening hours and relevant management regulations. In the event of violations, if counseling and warnings do not lead to improvement, the library may suspend the member's privileges based on the severity of the situation.
  7. Article 7 Members applying for borrowing services must present their membership card. The borrowing service is limited to the general collection at the library's main branch and does not include reservation services. Penalties for overdue items, losses, damages, and other violations will be handled in accordance with Feng Chia University's regulations on borrowing resources.
  8. Article 8 In the case of significant violations by a member, the library reserves the right to terminate all membership privileges. The member is ineligible to reapply for membership within three years.
  9. Article 9 For matters not explicitly covered in these implementation guidelines, the library will follow relevant regulations or the latest announcements.
  10. Article 10 The guidelines were adopted at the Library Affairs Meeting and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments.
