- Feng Chia University Library (hereinafter referred to as the library) formulates these directives to ensure the rational utilization of resources and maintain order in reading services.
- The arrangement of the library's open reading hours is based on the university's academic calendar and is adjusted according to the needs of significant campus events. The schedule is formally announced and implemented by the library before the commencement of each semester. In case of special circumstances or emergencies, the latest announcements from the library shall prevail.
- The target audience for the library's open reading services includes university faculty, staff, and students, library members, as well as individuals holding valid identification cards issued by the university or the library. Other users must undergo the application process for library access and relevant card replacement procedures before being allowed to enter for reading. Additional guidelines are set forth by the library for these procedures.
- To maintain order in reading services and ensure the security of library materials, readers must personally present identification to pass through access control upon entering the library. They are also required to pass through the library's security system upon exiting. Implementation guidelines for these procedures are separately established by the library.
- The library's reading areas are considered public open spaces. Readers entering the library for reading services are expected to be mindful of their behavior, collectively maintaining a quiet reading environment. Readers must adhere to regulations concerning the use of the collection, self-study reading, personal communication, electrical safety, noise control, evacuation, and other related norms. Additional guidelines for these regulations are set by the library.
- Depending on operational requirements, the library may provide spaces such as self-study rooms, information literacy classrooms, computer retrieval areas, media production centers, multimedia data areas, digital material production and broadcasting classrooms, lecture halls, discussion rooms, research cubicles, book return boxes, and storage lockers for reader use. Implementation guidelines for the use of these spaces are separately established by the library.
- Readers are collectively responsible for maintaining a conducive reading environment. To uphold cleanliness, safety, and tranquility within the library, bringing food, beverages, pets into the library, smoking, making noise, and engaging in other disruptive activities that interfere with others' reading are strictly prohibited. If a reader violates any of the library's regulations and fails to comply after being advised, the library reserves the right to ask the individual to leave immediately or temporarily suspend their reading privileges. In cases of severe violations, the university's regulations and relevant provisions will be enforced.
- The directives were adopted at the Administrative Meeting and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments.
These Directives were translated from the original Chinese version. In the event of any discrepancies between the two versions, the Chinese version always takes precedence.
