How to Find Books

The FCU Library Catalog (FCU WebOPAC) is your first choice when looking for books. You may search for a book by title or author. You can also search by keywords, subjects or even classification numbers. When you find the book you need, check its status to see if it is checked out. If it is on the shelf, you can locate it according to the call number. If it is an electronic book, you can access it on campus by clicking the link.

If addition to the Library Catalog, you can search electronic books by searching the E-Books databases. E-Books databases provide different functions from those of the library catalog. Not only can you search in the bibliographic information, such as title or author, but also in the content of the book. You can read the full-text online as well.

What should I do if the library does not own the book?

If the library does not own what you need, you can request the book through Interlibrary Loan or Nationwide Document Delivery Services.

To see which library owns the book you need, you can search individual library catalogs. However, it is more efficient to use union catalogs. You may use CTTLRC Union Catalog to search the collections of 13 cooperative libraries of the Central Taiwan Teaching/Learning Resource Center as well as bibliographic records of National Bibliographic Information Network (NBINet Catalog).
