Rules and Policies for Rooms and Facilities
Seminar Rooms
Seminar Rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Each room comes with Internet access and is available for students and/or faculty to carry out group discussions.
General Rules
- Groups should number no less than five and no more than eight. All of the members of the group should be present before acquiring the room key. Valid ID cards of group members are required for reservation. Reservations will be kept for only 15 minutes for late arrivals.
- Loan period is 3 hours and no renewals are allowed. Overdue fine is NT$10 per hour.
- Please turn off the lights and take your personal belongings with you when leaving.
- The key should be returned to the Circulation Desk. If the key is lost, compensation must be paid in the amount required to make a new key and room use privileges will be suspended for one month.
Research Rooms
Six Research Rooms are available for faculty or graduate students who require a workspace in the library. Each room
is equipped with a desk, a chair and shelves. Valid ID card is required for reservation.
General Rules
- Loan period is 30 days. Online renewal is allowed once for another 30-day period if there is no waiting list.
- Journals, reference books and newspapers should not be kept in Research Rooms for personal use. Books should be checked out if they need to be kept on hand for more than one day.
- Please check the condition of the furniture before you begin using the room. If there is any damage, report it to the Circulation Desk immediately.
- Please take care to protect your personal belongings. The library is not responsible for any losses.
- Smoking, eating and drinking is not permitted in the library, including in the research rooms.
- If the key is lost, compensation must be paid in the amount required to make a new key and room use privileges will be suspended for one month.
Note: If there is an urgent need, library staff has the right to enter research rooms without the borrower’s permission.
Audio-visual Rooms
There are four Audio-visual Rooms on the 3rd floor for group learning activities.
General Rules
- Groups should number no less than five and no more than eight. Valid ID cards of group members are required for reservation at the Multimedia Desk. Reservations will be kept for only 10 minutes for late arrivals.
- Loan period is 3 hours. No renewals are allowed.
- Check the equipment first before using it. If any damage is found, report it to the Multimedia Desk immediately.
- Please follow the instructions when using the audio-video equipment. Consult the staff at the Multimedia Desk if you have any problems.
- Please follow the procedures and turn off the power after use.
- Borrowers will be required to pay compensation if damage results from inappropriate use.
Wireless Network Interface Cards
General Rules
- Wireless network interface cards can be loaned from the Circulation Desk with valid ID card.
- Loan period is 30 days. Online renewal is allowed once for another 30-day period if there is no waiting list. A fine of NT$10 per day will be charged for overdue cards.
- Wireless Network Interface Cards will be tested upon return. If a card is found to be damaged, the borrower must replace it with a new one of same or better grade.
