  1. Article 1 In response to the diversification of information dissemination, the library has established a Multimedia Data Area (hereinafter referred to as "the Area") to support the teaching, research, and learning needs of Feng Chia University faculty and students, and to provide access to multimedia data and related equipment. For the convenience of management and service promotion, these implementation guidelines are formulated in accordance with Article 3 of Feng Chia University Library Resource Borrowing Directives.
  2. Article 2 The services provided are as follows:
    1. Borrowing of multimedia data.
    2. Providing individual audiovisual booths and audiovisual rooms in coordination with the borrowing of multimedia data.
    3. Offering facilities for audio enjoyment.
  3. Article 3 The relevant provisions are as follows:
    1. Access to the Area is limited to faculty, staff, and students of Feng Chia University for borrowing. Other individuals may only use the materials within the library premises. Multimedia data, including audio tapes, video tapes, CDs, DVDs, VCDs, LDs, magnetic tapes, etc., can be borrowed for use, except for reference materials.
    2. Full-time faculty and research students are limited to 15 items with a borrowing period of 7 days, which can be renewed once. Part-time faculty, lecturers, and temporary staff are limited to 10 items with a borrowing period of 7 days, which can be renewed once. Undergraduate students, credit program students, Chinese language teaching center students, and exchange students are limited to 5 items with a borrowing period of 5 days, which can be renewed once. However, the total borrowed items should not exceed the total number of books allowed by the main library, and renewal is not allowed if there are reservations.
    3. To maintain copyright and quality of multimedia data, bringing personal multimedia materials for use in the Area is prohibited.
    4. Users must adhere to intellectual property regulations when using and borrowing multimedia data. Reproduction is prohibited, and violation of these regulations will result in legal responsibilities for the borrower.
    5. When using multimedia data within the library, users are limited to borrowing one item at a time, with a principle based on the program's duration (approximately three hours). Additional items can be borrowed after returning the previous ones.
    6. In coordination with the borrowing of multimedia data, personal audiovisual booths and audiovisual rooms are provided. Borrowing services will not be provided within the last 30 minutes before the end of the day.
    7. After use, users must follow relevant instructions to complete operations, turn off equipment, and return borrowed items.
    8. Guidelines for the use of audiovisual rooms:
      1. Reserved for teaching by university faculty or for group use by three individuals, with reservations made through pre-registration. Borrowers should collect keys from the circulation counter in the Area by presenting their own identification. Usage rights may be canceled for those who exceed the 10-minute grace period, and any changes to the usage time should be communicated in advance.
      2. Borrowers are responsible for maintaining the equipment in audiovisual rooms and must return items immediately after use. They should coordinate with library staff for inspection and return the keys, retrieving their identification in the process.
      3. Usage is generally limited to three hours per session, with no availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays.
      4. Compensation is required for any damage to the venue or equipment.
    9. Users must carefully read the usage instructions for data and equipment. It is their responsibility to inspect for any damage. In the case of any unclear situations, users should first seek assistance from library staff. In the event of malfunction or damage, users must promptly inform library staff for resolution; otherwise, they will be held liable for compensation.
    10. Lost and compensation procedures: In the event of damage or loss of multimedia data and equipment, compensation is required for the original items. If the original items cannot be purchased, compensation should be made at double the market value of the original items.
  4. Article 4 The guidelines were adopted by the Feng Chia University Library Committee and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments.
