Feng Chia University Library Resource Borrowing Directives

  1. Feng Chia University Library (hereinafter referred to as the Library) formulates these directives to facilitate the borrowing and usage of library resources (hereinafter collectively referred to as borrowing) and enhance the efficiency of circulation services.
  2. Users, holding the following identification documents, may proceed with the borrowing of library resources:
    1. Valid IC card issued by the university.
    2. Library-issued membership card and temporary proof of identification.
    3. Valid documents issued by alliance libraries or interlibrary cooperation units.
  3. The Library continually assesses factors such as the scale of library resources and equipment, circulation quantities, and data types. Taking into account the needs of different user identities, regulations regarding the scope, quantity, and duration of borrowing are established, and relevant implementation guidelines are separately formulated by the Library.
  4. After completing the borrowing process, borrowers may renew the loan on the Library's website before the due date. However, renewal will not be accepted if it exceeds the loan period or if the borrowed resource has been reserved by another user. Relevant implementation guidelines are separately formulated by the Library.
  5. Once library resources are borrowed, other users who are not borrowers can make reservations on the Library's website. Procedures, quantity limitations, and other relevant guidelines for reservations are separately formulated by the Library.
  6. Journals, newspapers, reference books, designated reference books, special collections, or valuable equipment in the Library are for in-house use only. Borrowing procedures and management methods for these resources are subject to separate guidelines formulated by the Library.
  7. Borrowers must return borrowed items promptly after the loan period expires. Failure to renew or late returns will result in fines, and relevant guidelines for penalties are separately formulated by the Library.
  8. Borrowers are responsible for the proper care and use of borrowed library resources. In cases of damage, loss, or other issues, borrowers are obligated to compensate. Relevant guidelines for compensation are separately formulated by the Library.
  9. The Library may suspend the borrowing privileges of individuals for a specified period under the following circumstances:
    1. Discovery of lending, exchanging, or allowing others to misuse identification documents.
    2. Taking library resources out of the Library without completing borrowing procedures.
    3. Failure to return borrowed library resources on time, or accumulation of fines exceeding NT$300.
  10. When faculty and staff leave their positions, or students withdraw, suspend, or graduate, they must settle any borrowed library resources and outstanding fines before completing the departure process.
  11. The directives were adopted at the Administrative Meeting and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments. The same applies to amendments.
