Feng Chia University Library Guidelines for the Handling of Donated Resources

  1. Article 1 The library of our university (hereinafter referred to as "the Library") formulates these implementation guidelines to effectively manage donated book resources in accordance with Article 3 of Feng Chia University Library's Directives for Resource Collection and Development.
  2. Article 2 The Library's Collection Development Section is responsible for handling matters related to donated resources.
  3. Article 3 Donated resources meeting any of the following conditions will be incorporated into the library collection:
    1. Academic books suitable for reference and use by teachers and students.
    2. Resources with timeliness, excluding Western language books, rare and valuable books, or ancient manuscripts.
    3. Resources complying with copyright regulations and in good condition.
  4. Article 4 The Library may choose not to incorporate donated resources that meet any of the following conditions:
    1. Duplicate copies already present in the library.
    2. File formats or software incompatible with the existing equipment or unsupported.
    3. Publications from political, religious, or various organizational internal materials, promotional materials, popular entertainment magazines, textbooks, lecture notes, incomplete series, or discontinuous publications.
  5. Article 5 The Library retains ownership and processing rights for donated resources, including collection, cataloging, weeding, donation, or other handling methods.
  6. Article 6 The guidelines were adopted at the Library Affairs Meeting and approved by the President before being promulgated and implemented. The same applies to amendments.

These Guidelines were translated from the original Chinese version. In the event of any discrepancies between the two versions, the Chinese version always takes precedence.
