Interlibrary Loan Policy

Central Taiwan University / College Libraries Consortium

Reciprocal libraries include Da-Yeh University, National Chung Hsing University, China Medical University, Tunghai University, Chaoyang University of Technology, National Changhua University of Education, National Taichung University of Education, National Chi Nan University, Chung Shan Medical University, Providence University, National Chin-Yi University of Technology, Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Hungkuang University, Asia University, Chienkuo Technology University, National Taichung Institute of Technology, Ling Tung University and National United University, National United University.

Application Procedures

  1. Register in the Interlibrary Loan System for Central Consortium Libraries before applying for a borrowing card.
  2. After receiving e-mail notification, make initial application online.
  3. Another e-mail will be sent to confirm application.
  4. Submit one 1.85 cm × 2.54 cm recent photo of yourself in person to the Circulation Desk at Feng Chia University Main Library (1st floor) to obtain Consortium Borrowing Card and the original application form.
  5. Present your valid student/faculty ID card, additional photo ID and the application form to the Circulation Desk at the consortium library to complete the procedure.
  6. Once the application procedure has been completed, you may borrow materials from consortium libraries.

Consortium Borrowing Cards are valid for one year, and uniformly expire at the end of each school year (July 31). If application is in the same semester as the applicant’s graduation date, the validity of the card will be until April 30.

Loan Rules

  1. Currently enrolled students and full-time faculty/staff can apply for borrowing cards. Borrowers should check out materials in person.
  2. A maximum of five items can be borrowed from each consortium library.
  3. Loan period is 30 days. Renewals and reservations are not available.
  4. Fines of NT$5 will be charged per day per overdue item.

Other Reciprocal Libraries

Private Universities

Libraries of eight private universities provide reciprocal loan services during summer and winter breaks. Reciprocal libraries include Chinese Culture University, Chung Yuan Christian University, Soochow University, Tunghai University, Feng Chia University, Tamkang University, Fu Jen Catholic University and Providence University.

Loan Rules
  • Currently enrolled students and full-time faculty/staff can apply for borrowing cards. Applications will not be accepted from those who will graduate in the same semester.
  • Borrowers should check out materials in person.
  • A maximum of three items can be borrowed and renewals are not accepted.
  • Loan periods are during summer/winter break. The exact due date will depend on the policies of the lending libraries. A fine will be charged if the item is overdue. Items will be recalled if there is an urgent need by lending libraries.

Please fill out the application form in person at the Circulation Desk in the Feng Chia University Main Library.

Libraries of seven universities provide reciprocal loan services. Reciprocal libraries include Yuan Ze University, National Taiwan University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan Ocean University, National Taiwan College of Physical Education and MingDao University.

Loan Rules
  • Currently enrolled students and full-time faculty/staff can apply for borrowing cards. Applications will not be accepted from those who will graduate in the same semester.
  • Borrowers should check out materials in person.
  • Loan period is 21 days. A maximum of five items can be loaned at any on time.
  • The exact due date will depend on the policies of the lending libraries. A fine will be charged if the item is overdue. Items will be recalled if there is an urgent need by lending libraries.

Please fill out the application form in person at the Circulation Desk in the Feng Chia University Main Library.
